ESTABLISHMENT 1995.

“Liuteria” a production group of a Croatian company Andona d.o.o was established in 1995, founded by a 25 year old luthier Brajdić Toni.
At the very beginning we were a smaller company with only six employees at that time, and we were still able to offer a very acceptable price to quality ratio for our products and services. That is one of the main reasons we were able to breakout on the global market, and earn the confidence of the many larger companies, that led us to become a worldwide reference on the tonewood market.
In our first steps we were more engaged in the production of tonewood elements for electric stringed musical instruments, such as electric guitars and basses. Our production of tonewood expanded to include other forms of stringed instruments, as we found ourselves conquering the market, and the confidence of various stringed instrument producers of violins, violas, cellos and various other acoustic instruments.

FIRST BUSINESS STEPS

Our first appearance at the Frankfurt music show with our tonewood elements for electric guitars and basses attracted a lot of interest from smaller manufactures. We piqued the interests of these manufactures because of the highly attractive highest of quality wood we had to offer, especially the flamed maple we presented at the show. In practice, every luthier dislikes the idea of changing their tonewood supplier. The luthier becomes accustomed to a product, its quality and the suppliers business practices, and changing suppliers rarely happens because they like to know what they are buying. Our first clients actually looked forward to acquiring us as their tonewood supplier, since they already knew of us as a producer of finished musical instruments. This helped establish confidence in our product quality as we took our first steps in cooperation with these manufactures. Shortly thereafter, we drew the attention of larger companies, but unfortunately they were not so quick to cooperate. At the beginning, many of the larger manufactures were skeptical of our capabilities, for we were still unknown in the world of industrial production. Industrial production demands a high standard for consistency amongst all varying forms of quantities. Fortunately we were able to gain the trust of one of Europe’s largest musical instrument companies, and we still find ourselves in cooperation with them to date.

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

Over the first few years, Liuteria had experienced a drastic growth and many new developments. By our third year, we had over tripled our staff to 22 full time employees and up 30 employees during the busy seasons. During these years, we made many investments in the development of our infrastructure, and new technologies. We purchased new machines, and better tools for processing tonewood. We acquired various capacity transport vehicles. Vehicles ranging from trucks to haul logs and large orders of finished products, to smaller delivery vehicles for localized European transport. We had even offered “door to door” services as part of special arrangements with some of our most important European customers. Liuteria has built additional facilities and implemented the forced wood drying technology. The drying room is one of our most important investments. This investment has made it possible to increase our production capacity, and helped us develop exceptional unparalleled wood drying techniques and “know how”.

TRUST

Today our business is stable and we offer various products in different levels of treatment. Our products range from logs, to raw planks, raw elements, partially dried, dried and kiln dried elements. We even offer services under special request, like cutting bodies to client’s specifications.
Unfortunately, the market changed drastically due to the worldwide recession. We do not produce or stock large orders at our facility for the time being, but that does not mean that we don’t have seasoned tonewood in stock. On the contrary, we still stock and can offer up to 10 year old dried elements for some instruments. And, some forms of our elements we have current stocks of hundreds and even thousands.
Thanks to our dedication to our work; where even the smallest details are of importance, we find ourselves in cooperation with some of the greatest names in the musical instrument industry. We hope to have a chance to develop a good business relationship with your company, and strongly believe that you will surely be completely satisfied with our products and service.
